Executive Board:

The club is governed by a board of directors. Any member who is interested in filling the position can apply. The board takes the names under consideration, evaluating the candidate’s skills, desire to serve, and other relevant factors. After due deliberation the board appoints the new board member. In addition to the permanent members there are two members-at-large, each having a one year term. Any club member may volunteer for a member-at-large position. The member-at-large positions give the opportunity for club members to be on the board and participate in decision making. Mindy joined LWRDPC when there were only 45 members and the meetings had expanded to fill all 3 salons at the Town Hall. She has served as the Treasurer, Vice-President and is now serves the club as its President.

Morag is the current secretary of the LWRDPC. Her responsibilities are to record the meetings and head up communications with all of the membership. This includes the monthly newsletter, monitoring of club Facebook communications, both our public site and private group as well as assisting in website management.

Currently Jim is the Treasurer of the LWRDPC.  He assumed this role in January of 2016.  In this role he has, migrated the club financials to QuickBooks, applied for and received 501(C)3 status, assisted in modifying the club By-Laws to be consistent with 501(C)3 requirements and applied and obtained FL State tax exemption status which reduces the cost for the club to gain entry to venues for photography events.

Bill was born in England and moved to the US in 1989. Located in Pittsburgh he was a VP of North America for a major consumer goods company. In the small amounts of free time in between work and his wife and two kids, he started exploring the basics of photography – everything in automatic and sending the pictures off for developing and being happy if one in 36 was good!

An Aerospace engineer from Montana who started photography in college.  I took film classes and learned the basics in college.  I started digital photography with 10mp camera and have updated since then.  I have worked with computer systems for last 30 years from building them to programming them.  I now manage the club website and most things having to do with the computer. I like to take photographs and enjoy both the technical side of it and the people side too.

Larry started in photography when he was 14 using a Pentax Spotmatic and processing B/W negatives and prints in his bathroom/darkroom.  In 1992 he opened a photo studio as a side business to his advertising agency.  For almost 25 years he did work he called “Concept Portraiture”.  His service was to provide one signed print to each client – framed and matted in sizes ranging from 16 x 24” up to 30 x 40”.  No 8×10’s, no wallet sizes, etc.  His business was low volume but high margin.

Susan is originally from Philadelphia and has lived in Sarasota since 2001.  She came to Florida retired and enjoying playing golf and tennis.  She is an accomplished golfer that has played with  a handicap as low as 5.6 – although other interests have caused her handicap to rise to a 12.  Her previous careers included a registered stock broker, a trader on the floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and manager and buyer in a women’s clothing boutique.   Shortly after arriving in Florida Susan formed a company called 4women.com, an on- line boutique that caters to women who are experiencing medical hair loss.  She designed a fashion forward scarf that holds two US patents.  She has served as President of 4women.com for the past 10 years.

Roxana developed her love for photography while spending time with her father in his black and white darkroom. It was amazing to her how much joy her father got out of capturing a moment in time. This started her on her photographic journey. She continued to develop her passion through her teenage years taking several photography courses during high school. Upon graduation from college Roxana taught nursery school and Pre-K. She later went on to work as an office manager for a local photographer in Stamford, CT.

Carolyn has been a member of LWRDPC for 3 years. She currently is a field trip coordinator for the club. Her responsibility entails organizing and attending all the monthly trips. Carolyn was born and raised in Iowa. She is married and has 3 grown children, all married, and 7 grandchildren. She spent most of her adult life in Iowa but moved to Florida 3 ½ years ago from Norman, OK. Carolyn feels her most important job was raising her children. While raising her children she also volunteered in her community, served on numerous boards in her church and one of her biggest accomplishments involved traveling to India to visit several Methodist sponsored schools, hospitals and orphanages. She maintains her commitment to serve others through her involvement at Harvest Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch.

Following a 30 year career in the corporate world, Rick, his wife and youngest daughter moved from Dallas, Texas to the Lakewood Ranch area in 2001. Retirement has given him the opportunity to further pursue his interests of golf, photography, hiking and travel. Besides spending time with his wife and youngest daughter, who is a sophomore at TCU, he enjoys the time he has available with his oldest daughter’s family, including six grandchildren, as well as his son who is a counselor and educator at the University of Florida. He looks forward to continuing to learn from all the great people he has met in the LWRDPC.

Her hobbies include photography, especially travel and close up photos, jewelry making, crafting and home design.  She was an “Early adopter” of digital, owning a Kodak 1.3 MP camera, the size of a restaurant take out box.  Retired and loving life. Dave was a lifelong resident of New Jersey and moved to Lakewood Ranch from New Jersey in 2013 and shortly thereafter joined LWRDPC.  Dave is a 35-year employee of Wawa Inc. and is the Real Estate Manager for the west coast of Florida. Photography has been a hobby of Dave’s since high school and developed his own film until the mid 80’s.  Dave got back in the saddle with photography in the early 2000’s and focuses on landscape B&W and travel photography.  Dave spends some of his time on the road exploring the back roads of Florida.
